2007 - International Data Exchange Workshop
9-11 May 2007 in Kiel, Germany - This international workshop, co-sponsored by MARGINS, InterMARGINS, Ridge2000, and InterRidge, is designed for scientists, data managers, and data policy makers to explore new opportunities for scientific research that take advantage of recent rapid growth in digital data collections and data systems technology. Current international efforts in Geoinformatics relevant for studies of continental margin and mid-ocean ridge processes will be highlighted and approaches - technical as well as political - for enhanced open exchange of key data of broad scientific interest will be explored.

2006 - Polar Ridges Workshop
19-22 September 2006, Sestri Levante, Italy - Recent years have seen an explosion of interest and work on mid-ocean ridges in the polar regions, especially the Arctic ridges. This is because of their key role in the formation of mid-ocean ridge basaltic melts, the breakup of continents, the evolution of life on Earth, ocean circulation and climate. This meeting and workshop addressed various aspects of Polar Ridge science and comprised of two days of scientific talks followed by a one-day plenary workshop.

2006 - Mission Moho Workshop - Understanding the Formation and Evolution of the Oceanic Lithosphere
7-9 September 2006, Portland, Oregon, USA - The Mission Moho workshop, co sponsored by IODP-MI, the Joint Oceanographic Institutions, Ridge 2000 and InterRidge. It was convened to discuss and prioritize scientific objectives to be addressed by scientific ocean drilling, as part of our strategy to study the formation and evolution of the ocean lithosphere. It directly addressed InterRidge Deep Earth Sampling objectives to identify further the sub-seafloor biosphere, and to achieve total penetration of ocean crust, through international, collaborative, and multidisciplinary projects.

2000 - Management and Conservation of Hydrothermal Vent Ecosystems
28–30th September 2000, Institute of Ocean Sciences, Sidney (Victoria), B.C., Canada - The themes and overall goals of the vent management workshop were developed by a 16 member organising committee composed of biologists, geologists and marine policy experts from InterRidge member countries. The detailed organisation of the scientific content of the workshop and the compilation and editing of this report have been the responsibility of the two co-ordinators, Kim Juniper (U. Québec, Montréal) and Paul Dando (U. Wales - Bangor).

1996 - Mid-Atlantic Ridge Symposium
19th - 22nd June 1996, Reykjavik, Iceland - This symposium, focused on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) between 15° - 40°N,
marked the completion of the FARA (French American Ridge Atlantic) project.
Results obtained by FARA and other national and international projects in this region were reviewed. Eighty scientists from eight nations presented their recent research. The symposium incorporated some forty oral presentations and thirty posters and was planned primarily around sessions covering different portions of the ridge rather than by theme, hence emphasising the interdisciplinary nature of the research that has taken place.
