The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences is seeking to make a key appointment in the area of Geology. The Department includes the ARC National Key Centre for Geochemical Evolution and Metallogeny of Continents (GEMOC) and also incorporates the Concentration of Research Excellence initiative (CoRE) in Earth and Planetary Evolution with major strengths in interdisciplinary studies of the deep Earth, isotope geochemistry, experimental petrology, geophysics and geodynamic modelling (http://www.es.mq.edu.au/GEMOC/). The Department has a commitment to learning and teaching using innovative methods including problem-based learning and an international reputation in geochemistry research and development.
The successful applicant will undertake teaching and research within the Department. Responsibilities will include development of teaching modules and research programs in at least one of resource geology, sedimentary and tectonic processes, or inorganic geochemistry (including isotopic geochemistry). The successful applicant's research should be aligned with the research aims of GEMOC and the CoRE and they should be able and willing to actively partipate in field-based teaching in the Department at all undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
